En este escenario, la <strong>protecci\u00f3n radiol\u00f3gica<\/strong> ya no puede considerarse un elemento accesorio o exclusivamente individual, sino una <strong>componente estructural<\/strong> del dise\u00f1o de los entornos y de la organizaci\u00f3n de los procesos cl\u00ednicos. El enfoque tradicional de la radioprotecci\u00f3n, hist\u00f3ricamente basado en el uso de equipos de protecci\u00f3n individual, ha mostrado con el tiempo limitaciones evidentes, sobre todo en t\u00e9rminos ergon\u00f3micos y de sostenibilidad operativa. En los procedimientos m\u00e9dicos, el principal contribuyente a la exposici\u00f3n del operador <strong>no es el haz primario<\/strong>, que se dirige hacia el paciente y est\u00e1 fuertemente colimado, sino la <strong>radiaci\u00f3n dispersa<\/strong> generada por la interacci\u00f3n de los rayos X con el cuerpo del paciente y la mesa. Esta radiaci\u00f3n dispersa se propaga principalmente:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>desde el paciente,<\/li>\n<li>con una intensidad m\u00e1xima en direcciones pr\u00f3ximas al plano del haz,<\/li>\n<li>con una distribuci\u00f3n espacial que depende de la geometr\u00eda de la fuente, del kVp y de la posici\u00f3n del operador.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Numerosos estudios dosim\u00e9tricos muestran que el operador est\u00e1 significativamente expuesto <strong>solo en regiones espec\u00edficas del espacio<\/strong>, t\u00edpicamente entre la fuente, el paciente y la posici\u00f3n de trabajo. Esto permite interceptar la mayor parte de la dosis con <strong>blindajes correctamente posicionados<\/strong>, sin necesidad de cerrar completamente el espacio.[\/vc_column_text][toggles style=\u00bbminimal\u00bb][toggle color=\u00bbExtra-Color-1&#8243; heading_tag=\u00bbdefault\u00bb heading_tag_functionality=\u00bbdefault\u00bb title=\u00bb\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 es adecuada una pantalla radioprotectora (aunque \u00abno cierre\u00bb la sala)?\u00bb][vc_column_text css=\u00bb\u00bb text_direction=\u00bbdefault\u00bb]Una <strong>pantalla radioprotectora m\u00f3vil o suspendida<\/strong> es eficaz porque::<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>intercepta la <strong>radiaci\u00f3n dispersa primaria<\/strong>, que representa la porci\u00f3n dominante de la dosis para el operador; ;<\/li>\n<li>se coloca <strong>entre el paciente (fuente de dispersi\u00f3n) y el operador<\/strong>, es decir, a lo largo de la trayectoria m\u00e1s probable de los fotones dispersos;<\/li>\n<li>reduce dr\u00e1sticamente la intensidad del campo de radiaci\u00f3n antes de que alcance el cuerpo del operador, como se describe en la ley de atenuaci\u00f3n.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No es necesario blindar \u201ctodo alrededor\u201d, porque la dosis <strong>no es isotr\u00f3pica<\/strong>: disminuye r\u00e1pidamente con la distancia y con el \u00e1ngulo respecto al plano de emisi\u00f3n principal.
